SCOPE: SR. Tech
(Tech can be promoted to this level after 6 months with QD, passing written test, & performance reviews)
A Sr. Tech must be able to work: with minimal supervision, complete industrial work on the Electrical, Mechanical and Electronic controls & Conveyor, Passenger Boarding Bridges and manufacturing equipment. Sr.Tech along with other team members, will maintain and/or repair theses industrial systems & related equipment utilized within these facilities knowledge of AC & DC theory, 480VAC, PLC’s, VFD’s, controls, and conveyor components & production equipment, repair or replace malfunctioning electronic controls or control related components on conveyor systems, airport equipment & related production equipment. Should be able to interpret blueprints, wiring, and schematic diagrams. Must be able to follow technical, oral and/or written instructions.
Sr.Tech will work along with employees performing routine & preventative maintenance on machines per customer specifications/standards. A Sr. Tech will conduct training for lower levels to cross train for higher levels of employment. They will provide instruction & guidance to other Technicians to diagnose troubles; determines extent of repairs; recommends replacement of components and devices, and methods to be utilized. Will work with outside suppliers who are installing or servicing conveyors or other systems. Will enforce safety polices of all devices/equipment, maintain general housekeeping & always alert for hazardous conditions/practices.
All
technicians are considered to be on call & may occasionally be
called upon to perform maintenance tasks outside of primary duty
and/or hours. May also have to work schedules which are not
the normal work week to repair or install equipment; perform
preventive maintenance duties, etc. Also
includes (but is not limited to) surveys, scheduling, ordering of
material and special equipment (if necessary) managing of recycling,
job site inspections, progress reports (internal and external),
dispatching emergency on-call service, and to maintain productivity
levels to insure profitability. This individual is also responsible
for timely and accurate completion of all internal and external
reporting in relation to this Service Business. Review job sites
for quality of work and perform on-site trouble-shooting as may be
required
Required Skills:
Microsoft Excel, Word &Outlook proficiency & computer skills
Industrial Machinery repair/maintenance, PLC, 3 phase experience/knowledge
Welding experience
Perform preventative & corrective maintenance industrial equipment
Troubleshoot, repair, modify, overhaul /refurbish standard & special equipment & components
Conduct customer service and warranty calls
Provide equipment installations.
Provide customer service reports
Develop & maintain excellent customer, sales rep. & company management relations
Be first line resource for customer & fellow employees questions/concerns
High School Diploma & completion of mechanical, electrical, electronic and/or hydraulic technical school training (or-strong knowledge of mechanical, electro-mechanical, electrical, electronics, knowledge of PLCs).
Strong technical aptitude & knowledge of equipment operation/maintenance.
Able to solve complex mechanical / system problems utilizing technical manuals
2 + years of experience in related field of work with technical training
Exhibit strong customer communication skills
Central controls, plc programming, HMI screen knowledge a plus
Clean driving record & background history is mandatory
Able to provide excellent professional/supervisory references
Follows safe & proper procedures with minimal supervision; capable of performing required repairing & maintaining electrical troubleshooting functions including diagnosing causes of malfunctions, installation and maintenance of sophisticated systems and general electrical maintenance work.
Consults with Engineering & Production Departments on new designs, installations and modifications of current electrical controls and systems.
